The theme of tactile appeal, understood as the enhancement of textures found in nature and attention to detail, both in terms of colors and three-dimensional rendering of surfaces, unites the new Stoneplay collection completely dedicated to the world of natural stone.
Three distinct aesthetics, Cliff and Ardesia—with a more Nordic and rigorous character—and Mayenne—with a more Mediterranean and relaxed appeal—draw inspiration from real natural stones that are deeply connected to our architectural and interior design tradition. Richly textured, three-dimensional graphics emphasize a sense of timeless authenticity, creating ceramic surfaces that never go out of style.
The collection is produced using 3D Ink technology, which enhances the natural appearance of surfaces through the perfect synchronization of graphics and structures, each one unique, achieved through an advanced system combining optical recognition and printing precision. Shade variation effects, together with the natural and structured finishes, are carefully balanced on every individual tile, resulting in surfaces rich in volume and depth, offering an authentic visual and tactile experience down to the smallest detail.
The Cliff aesthetic reinterprets an ancient English limestone originating from the island of the same name in Dorset. Historically used in the construction of landmark buildings such as St Paul’s Cathedral in London, it was later chosen for numerous prestigious public buildings throughout England, including the façade of Buckingham Palace.
Maintaining a Nordic mood, the Ardesia proposal features the typical anthracite color of the stone that inspired it. Delicate light veining runs across a more compact graphic background and is available in the 100×100, 60×120, and 60×60 cm formats, as well as in the XT20 100×100 cm version with a 20 mm thickness specifically designed for outdoor applications.
Within the Stoneplay collection, Mayenne is the third selected aesthetic, inspired by the natural stone from the Mayenne region of France, highly appreciated in architecture for its rich graphic character and excellent technical performance. Mayenne embodies a warm Mediterranean style, expressed through subtle veining and soft tonal transitions in the Avorio and Beige colors, further highlighted in the Leaf Mosaic, available in the 31×39 cm format.
For the Cliff and Ardesia colours, the Domino Mosaic is available in the 29×39 cm size, featuring rounded-edge tesserae for sophisticated wall applications that enhance the surface’s variegated effect.
Stoneplay XT20 slabs, featuring increased thickness and the 100×100 cm format, are complemented by a wide range of special pieces designed to meet the requirements of both residential and commercial projects. Additionally, all Stoneplay aesthetics are available in a structured outdoor finish, enhancing visual continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The timeless appeal of the Stoneplay aesthetics makes them ideal for creative combinations with small-format collections such as Look, Gleeze, and Mélange, as well as with glossy 3D wall coverings like those from the new Lucida collection, and with other marble- and wood-effect surfaces already available within the Ragno range, such as Incanto, Inedito, and Boheme.
